    CHEESE & SAUSAGE "COOKIES":

    Source of Recipe

    the web

    List of Ingredients

1 Lb. sausage (Italian, sage, your choice), browned, cooled
10 oz. extra sharp cheddar, shredded
1 batch Bisquick™ dumplings made by package directions (low fat OK)
extra Bisquick™ mix as needed to "stiffen"

    Recipe

    Mix first 3 ingredients.

If mixture is too sticky to roll into balls, add more Bisquick™ 1 Tb. at a time until mixture is stiff enough.

With wet hands, roll into balls a little bigger than ping pong ball size.

Place on non-stick or buttered cookie sheet or cooking parchment [see GLOSSARY] at least 2" apart.

Bake in 350°F. oven for 15 minutes or until browned. Serve warm.*

These morsels can be frozen prebaked on a cookie sheet then stored in a Baggie™. They need to thaw about 15 minutes before baking at 350°F. They can be frozen after baking and reheated in a conventional oven after 15 minutes of thawing. Better if frozen "raw" and keep for a month or more. They are also less temptation if the have to be baked. A bag of these in the freezer almost counts as another "instant" appetizer.
