    1/4 cup butter or margarine
    1 cup chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 pkg (12 oz) small cooked & cleaned frozen shrimp
    8 oz (2 cups) Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 can (4 oz) chopped mushrooms
    2 pkg (10 oz ea) frozen chopped broccoli
    1 tbls hot pepper sauce
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup cashews or pecans, chopped
    1 can (6 oz) water chestnuts, sliced

    Recipe



    Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan. Sauté onion and garlic until tender; add soup, shrimp. cheese, mushrooms, broccoli, pepper sauce, salt, nuts and water chestnuts. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes.

    Serve in chafing dish or other heated server with Melba toast, toasted bread or crackers.

    Variation: Substitute horseradish for hot pepper sauce for a different taste.

    Serves 10-12.
