    THE WEB

    List of Ingredients

1 lb (500 gr) chicken liver (free range if possible; veal, beef or lamb liver can also be used)
    1 medium onion
2/3 cup (170 ml) rolled oats
1 cup (250 ml) tomato juice
1 1/4 lb (560 gr) minced lean beef
    1 egg
1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt [after child has reached 12 months]

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°c).
In a large bowl soak the rolled oats in tomato juice, approximately 10 minutes.
While this soaks, prepare the raw liver (get the yukky bits off), then puree liver with onion until you obtain a smooth texture. Add liver puree, ground beef (mince), egg and salt (if child is old enough) to oats/tomato mixture.
    Blend well.
Bake 30-40 minutes in well greased muffin tins.
    Cool 5 minutes before serving.
Chop in smaller bits if necessary, to suit your child's needs.

Age: 9 to 10 months and up
    Yield: 16 baby portions
Keeps: 3 days in the refrigerator, 10-12 weeks frozen
Nutritional Information: 12 gr. protein per portion, 4 mg iron per portion

This recipe can be eaten by the whole family (a good way to make them eat liver!)
