    Bering’s Famous Sticky Buns

    List of Ingredients




    * 10 cups of flour
    * 1 egg
    * ½ gallon whole milk
    * 1 cup shortening
    * ½ cup of melted butter
    * 1 cup of brown sugar
    * ¾ cup of cinnamon
    * 2 packets of active dry yeast
    * 1 ½ tsp salt

    Icing

    * 5 cups of confectioner’s sugar
    * 2 cups of half & half

    Recipe



    For Sticky Buns Combine shortening, salt and sugar with milk in a saucepan. Heat on low to melt and combine ingredients. In a separate bowl add saucepan mixture to remaining flour, yeast and egg Knead ingredients for 10 – 15 minutes to create a soft dough. Lay dough on large floured surface and roll out flat. Butter surface of dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll edges of dough into 2 logs Slice into ¾ inch slices and lay on buttered pan Let rise then bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden. Pour prepared icing (see below) on buns, separate and serve.

    For Icing In a bowl gradually add half and half to confectioner’s sugar and slowly whip to desired consistency.

    Yield: approx 24 sticky buns
