Deep South Orange Glazed Turkey Steak

List of Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs turkey breast steaks 750 g
1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed) 75 ml
1/2 cup soy sauce 125 ml
2 tbsp dark molasses
OR 1/4 cup (60mL) bourbon or rum 30 ml
1 tbsp canola olive blended oil 15 ml
2 cloves garlic, minced 2
1/2 tsp gingerroot, finely chopped 2 mL
salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
Recipe
Place turkey steaks in a plastic bag, non-metal bowl or sealable container.
- Combine orange juice concentrate with soy sauce, molasses or bourbon, oil, garlic and gingerroot.
- Pour the mixture into the bag. Expel the air and seal.
- Turn the bag several times to insure the turkey is completely coated then refrigerate for three hours or overnight.
- Preheat barbecue on high; reduce temperature to medium. Discard any remaining marinade.
- Place steaks on the grill; close barbecue cover and grill for eight to 10 minutes per side basting several times with marinade (do not baste for the last five minutes).
- Serve turkey with a mixture of wild and white rice and a tossed salad of garden vegetables.
