Ginger-Mint Lemonade

Makes one cocktail
List of Ingredients
2 ounces lemon-flavored vodka
1½ ounces fresh lemon juice
1½ ounces ginger syrup (see note)
1 sprig (5-6 leaves) of fresh mint
1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle together mint and ginger syrup.
2. Add vodka, lemon juice, and ice; shake.
3. Sugar the rim of a highball glass, add ice, and strain lemonade into glass.
4. Garnish with a lemon wheel and mint leaf.
Recipe
Note: To prepare ginger syrup: Over medium heat, combine 1 cup water and one large piece, about ½ pound, ginger root, peeled and cut into quarter-inch cubes in a saucepan and cook for 15 minutes. Add 1 cup sugar and stir until it is dissolved. Turn heat off and let mixture cool completely. Strain and put aside.
