    1 loaf French Bread (crust optional)
    1 egg, beaten
    1 t brandy
    1 t orange water
    1 t sugar
    � t lemon zest
    2 T butter
    Powdered sugar, for garnish
    Fresh nutmeg, grated for garnish

    Recipe



    In a wide bowl, beat together the egg, brandy, orange flower water, sugar, and orange zest.
    If you wish, you can trim the crust from the bread; otherwise, slice the loaf into thick pieces.
    Allow slices to soak in the egg mix for 30 minutes.
    Melt the butter in a medium hot skillet, but do not allow it to brown.
    Saut� each slice of soaked bread until golden brown on each side.
    Remove the saut�ed bread from your skillet, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and nutmeg.
    Serve hot.
