    List of Ingredients




    1 cup sugar
    1/3 cup margarine or butter (softened)
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (amounts to 3 or 4 medium)
    1/3 cup of water
    1 2/ cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Recipe



    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Grease the bottom of a loaf pan.
    3. In a 2 1/2 quart bowl, mix the sugar and margarine.
    4. Stir in the eggs until well blended.
    5. Add the bananas and water and beat for 30 seconds.
    6. Stir in the remaining ingredients except for the nuts until moistened.
    7. Then stir in the nuts.
    8. Pour the batter into the pan and bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    9. For an 8-inch loaf pan, bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or for a 9-inch pan, bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
    10. Cool for 15 minutes.
    11. Loosen the sides of the loaf from the pan.
    12. Remove the pan and cool completely before slicing.
