List of Ingredients
* 30g (1oz) butter
* 225g (8oz) chopped streaky bacon
* 500g (1lb 2oz) trimmed sliced leeks
* 60ml (4tbsp) parsley
* 500g (1lb 2oz) thawed frozen shortcrust pastry
* beaten egg
Recipe
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6. Melt 15g (1/2oz) butter and stir-fry 225g (8oz) chopped streaky bacon on a high heat for 3–4 minutes until lightly browned. Add another 15g (1/2oz) butter then 500g (1lb 2oz) trimmed sliced leeks and cook for 4–5 minutes. Stir in 60ml (4tbsp) parsley, season then cool.
2. Divide 500g (1lb 2oz) thawed frozen shortcrust pastry into four equal pieces and roll each out onto a floured surface to a 20cm (8inch) round.
3. Divide the filling between the rounds, bring the two opposite edges of the pastry together and crimp the join to seal.
4. Put pasties onto a baking sheet and glaze with beaten egg. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
