Tampa Grapefruit Pie

1 9-inch pastry shell, baked
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
2 cups grapefruit sections, drained, cut into pieces
1/2 cup heavy cream, whippedRecipe
In medium saucepan, combine gelatin, sugar, and salt. Stir in water and grapefruit juice. Let stand 1 minute. Stir over low heat until gelatin is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes. Chill until slightly thickened. Add grapefruit sections to 3/4 of the gelatin mixture; spoon into prepared pastry shell. Fold whipped cream to remaining gelatin mixture. Spoon over grapefruit layer. Chill until firm.
