    List of Ingredients




    Buy or make your own favorite piecrust
    Peel, core and cut up 4 to 5 medium size baking apples*
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    4 Tablespoons flour
    2 teaspoons cornstarch
    Dash of nutmeg
    1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

    Recipe



    Mix dry ingredients and combine with apples. Arrange in 9 or 10-inch pie shell, roll out and add top crust - join with bottom crust by pinching together with fingers, cut several slits into top crust, dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture.

    Bake in 400° oven for 15 minutes (until top crust browns), then reduce oven temperature to 350° and continue baking another 40 to 45 minutes. Cool at least 45 minutes before cutting.

    *Whitewater Valley Orchard suggests using a combination of tart and sweet baking apples in your pie.

    Add other fruits or nuts as desired for variations.
    For example: add 1/2 to 2/3 cup of chopped fresh cranberries, blueberries, elderberries, etc. or same amount of walnuts or pecans.
