2 lbs. bacon
1 lb. macaroni, uncooked
3 qt. home-canned or store bought tomatoes
1/2 tsp sugarRecipe
In a Dutch oven fry bacon and drain. Add tomatoes and sugar to bacon
and heat on medium to low fire. To avoid the starchiness, cook
macaroni separately and then add to ingredients in the dutch oven.
Add sugar to reduce acidity. Continue to cook until it's hot and
serve. Don't overcook as macaroni will get soggy. Great with garlic
bread. All ingredients can be increased or decreased. Variations: Add
chopped garlic, hot pepper flakes, and/or Parmesan cheese.
