    2 cups sliced mushrooms

    1 cup diced onions

    1/2 cup butter

    1 pound italian sausage

    5 whole eggs

    2 1/2 cups milk

    1 tablespoon dijon mustard

    salt and pepper to taste

    nutmeg to taste

    1/4 cup chopped fresh parsely

    12 slices white bread with crusts removed

    4 cups grated cheddar cheese

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350.



    Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Saute mushrooms and onions in

    butter until tender.



    Cook sausage until done. Combine eggs, milk, mustard, spices and

    parsley and reserve.



    Place bread in baking dish covering bottom completely.



    Place half of mushroom mixture over bread then place half of

    sausage and cheese over that. Repeat layers again.



    Pour egg mixture over all. Refrigerate overnight or for at least 2 to 4

    hours so bread soaks up everything.



    Bake for 1 hour or until bubbly.



    Let sit about 10 minutes before dishing out.
