Phyllis George's Hot Chicken Salad

4 cups chicken breasts
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 cups chopped celery
1 cup plain slivered almonds
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cans water chestnuts
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 cups potato chips
Recipe
Cook chicken in salt water until done, and chop into bite-sized pieces.
Combine all ingredients except potato chips in a large casserole dish. Crumble potato chips and sprinkle on top.
Bake at 350 degrees until hot and bubbly, about 45 minutes.
Serves 6-8.
