    Chili with Soy Beans

    1 15oz. can black soy beans
    1 medium onion chopped
    1 medium green pepper
    1 lb. ground beef
    *2 15oz. cans stewed tomatoes
    1 15oz. can tomato sauce
    2 small cans tomato paste
    1-2 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    Dash paprika
    Dash cayenne pepper
    1 bay leaf (remove before serving)
    [TIP: put in tea ball to make removal easier]

    * You may substitute large can of Contadina Crushed tomatoes with roasted garlic (can't always find these).

    Put everything into a crock-pot or dutch oven and simmer for 6-8 hours. The longer the better. Serve with sour cream and shredded cheese.

    NOTE: Recipe says it serves 6-8 but these servings are very large. The carb count is lower using the crushed tomatoes instead of the stewed and I like the flavor better. The soy beans have only 3.5 carbs per 15oz. can so you can have beans in your chili and still keep the carbs down.
