5 ts vegetable oil -- divided
1 lb round steak, cut in 1 inch
1 cubes
3 tb chili powder
1 tb ground cumin
1 tb instant minced garlic
1/2 ts oregano -- crushed
1/2 ts paprika
1/8 ts ground red pepper
1/8 ts ground black pepper
15 oz tomato sauce
12 oz beer
1 1/2 c water
Recipe
In dutch oven or large saucepot, heat 2t oil until hot. Add meat,
a few pieces at a time; cook and stir until browned on all sides;
remove to a plate; repeat until all meat is browned. Heat remaining
3t oil until hot. Add chili powder, cumin garlic, oregano, paprika,
and black and red peppers; cook and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Stir in tomato sauce, beer, water and reserved meat; bring to a boil;
reduce heat and simmer, covered, until meat is tender, about 2 hours,
stirring occasionally. Serve with cooked pinto beans, chopped onions,
jalapeno peppers and grated Cheddar cheese, if desired.
