Recipe Introduction
a slow-cooker brew for the day after
List of Ingredients
1 lb. bulk sweet Italian sausage
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 med. onions
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. sugar
2 tsps. chili powder
2 tsps. ground cumin
2 tsps. dried oregano
2 (15 oz.) cans chili beans
1 (15 oz.) can chick peas
3 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp. olive oilRecipe
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. When oil is hot — but not smoking —
add one chopped onion and the garlic. Saute until onion is translucent.
Add ground beef and Italian sausage. Brown.
While meat, onions and garlic are cooking, combine one quartered onion
and remaining ingredients in 3.5 or 4 quart slow cooker.
When meat is finished browning, drain with a slotted spoon and transfer
to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low setting for 7–8 hours. While chili
cooks, apply favorite hangover remedies, watch tv and rehydrate. When
time is up, you should be cured and the chili is ready to be garnished
and served as desired.
