4Tbsps. Vegetable Oil, divided
2Lrg. Onions, chopped
3Tbsps. minced Garlic
2Lbs. boneless Sirloin or Round Steak, cut into 1/2" cubes
1Lb. ground Beef
2 cans {16ozs. each} Tomatoes in Puree
1 can {15 to 19ozs.} Red Kidney Beans, undrained
1/3C. Cayenne Pepper Sauce
1/4C. Chili Powder
2Tbsps. ground Cumin
1Tbsp. dried Oregano Leaves
1/2tsp. ground Black Pepper
Recipe
Heat 1Tbsp. oil in a 5Qrt. saucepan or Crock-Pot. Add onions and garlic; cook 5 minutes or until tender. Transfer to small bowl; set aside.
Heat remaining 3Tbsps. oil in saucepan. Add sirloin and ground beef in batches; cook about 15 minutes or until well browned. Drain off fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Return onions and garlic to saucepan. Simmer, partially covered, 1 hour or until meat is tender.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot and garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onion or chives!!
