George Dickel's Apple Crisp

8 medium tart apples (Jonathan or Granny Smith)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup George Dickel Whisky
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup soft butterRecipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Peel, core and slice apples. Soak them in lemon juice
to prevent them from turning brown.
Toss apples with sugar, whisky, raisins and nuts.
Place in 1 1/2 quart buttered baking dish. Blend
together brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon and
butter, spread mixture over apples.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes until apples are tender and
topping is golden brown. Serve warm topped with
vanilla ice cream.
Serves 6 to 8.
