List of Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs. beef which has been cubed into bite sizes
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can whole mushrooms(or equivalent in sliced fresh mushrooms)
1 can peas(fresh better)
1 cup finely chopped carrots
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 large cloves minced garlic
1 medium sized onion, chopped
3 tablespoons soy sauce(or to taste)
1 can stewed tomatoes(or chopped fresh)
2 large potatoes chopped into bite sizes salt and pepper to taste
Recipe
1. Saute beef with onions and garlic adding potatoes when beef is browned, add a little water if not using canned tomatoes.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients into the mixture(best to use a dutch oven) and let boil until meat is tender or until vegetables are tender, adding corn starch which has been diluted with some cold water to thicken.
3. Optional...2 tablespoons of sugar.
This is really a Spanish/Filipino dish that has made its way to the island.
