Recipe Introduction
Soba(ghetti) is a pan-fried Japanese noodle in rich dressing. This may also be prepared as a beef or vegetable dish.
List of Ingredients
1 pound of soba noodles, cooked
2 cups peeled, cut carrots
2 cups pre-cut, chopped yellow onions
1/4 head green cabbage, pre-cut
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon Hon Dashi powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup Yakisoba sauce Plus 8 tablespoons of Yakisoba sauce
4 teaspoons green seaweed flakes
Salt to taste
2 cups cooked Red Bird Farms chicken
Yakisoba SauceRecipe
1)Begin with cooked, still very hot soba noodles.
2)Place soba noodles in a large mixing bowl and let cool slightly while rest of product is prepared.
3)Turn wok or large frying pan on HIGH HEAT. Let wok become hot for 3 minutes.
4)Pour vegetable oil in a circular motion at about the middle wall of the wok.
Let oil heat for 1 minute.
5)Stir-fry vegetables in the following order:
1)Carrots, garlic powder – stir-fry together, cook until slightly tender, approximately 1.5 minutes, then ADD
2)Onions – cook until onions start to become transparent, approx. 1.5 minutes, then ADD
3)Cabbage – stir approximately 1 minute.
4)dd Sesame Oil to wok and cook an additional 2 minutes. Salt cooked vegetables to taste.
5)Proper stir-fried vegetables should retain some crispness and color- overcooked vegetables will be very limp and will have lost a good portion of the original color (as well as flavor!)
6)Add stir-fried vegetables (including juice), Yakisoba sauce, and water to noodles. Mix by HAND. Don’t break noodles.
Soba Bowl Serving
1)Portion out cooked sobaghettI / vegetable mix evenly over four plates.
2)Top with ½ cup cooked chicken (or beef) if desired, on each portion.
3)Spoon 2T of yakisoba sauce on the top of each serving.
4)Add approximately 2t dried seaweed flakes onto the center of the sobaghetti portion (a shaker works well for this).
Product is now ready to serve! Enjoy!
