    Hong Kong Beef with Pea Pods

    1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut 1/8 inch thick
    3 Tbls dry sherry
    1/2 cup soy sauce
    2 TBLS. cornstarch
    1 pound snow pea pods
    3/4 cup veggie oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tsp. sugar

    Cut the meat into matchlike strips. Toss the beef with the sherry, 3 TBLS. of the soy sauce and the cornstarch. Let stand 20 minutes.

    Remove strings from snow pea pods and cook in boiling water 3 minutes or until tender, but still crisp. Heat 1/2 cup oil in a skillet and saute the beef until browned.
    Heat the remaining oil in another skillet and saute the snow peas 2 minutes. Stir in the beef, garlic, sugar, and remaining soy sauce. Mix well.
