Guam Beef and Plantain(green bananas)Soup
List of Ingredients
2 lounds of stewing meat
5 to 6 green bananas
1 large onion chopped
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups water
1 can coconut milk(make sure it's unsweetened)
Enough oil or fat to use to saute meat and onions
Recipe
Saute bitesized meat with a little oil and add onion, if you like garlic, you can add two cloves minced. When meat is seared, add water and boil. When meat is almost tender which is about a half hour of boiling, add peeled bananas which have also been cut into bitesizes. The bananas should become tender at the same time the meat does or about 20 minutes. Add the coconut milk when both meat and bananas are tender.
