    Dutch Sausage rolls

    List of Ingredients




    2 1/2 cups flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 cup Crisco (or lard)
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup milk (or more if needed)
    2 lbs ground meat of your choice - recommed mixture of pork and veal
    parsley
    2 tbsp onion flakes

    Mix and sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening as for pie crust. Beat the eggs and add milk. Then add to dry ingredients. More milk may be needed to make a soft dough, of proper consistency to roll out to about 1/4" thickness. Combine the meat, parsley and onion flakes. Cut pastry into long strips, about 1 1/4" wide. Put a long roll of meat mixture about 1/2" in thickness down center of dough. Roll dough around the meat, cut into 3" long pieces. Seal the ends. Continue until rolls are made. Bake in hot 400 oven for 30 minutes.
