Crispy battered Oriental Chicken Stir-Fry with Vegetables and Tangy Shanghai Orange Sauce
List of Ingredients
1 cup Kahiki Shanghai Orange Sauce
1 lb. Kahiki Tempura Battered Chicken Nuggets
1 cup Carrots, sliced 1/8-inch thick
1 cup Scallions, chopped in 1" pieces (green and white part of scallion)
1 cup Snow peas, trimmed
2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
1 Tbsp. Toasted sesame seeds
Recipe
. Deep fry or pan-fry Kahiki Tempura Battered Chicken Nuggets. Drain nuggets on absorbent paper.
2. Using a wok or large sauté pan, coat with 2 Tbsp. of vegetable oil.
Heat on high until oil begins to smoke, approximately one to two minutes.
3. Add carrots. Stir-fry for one minute.
4. Add scallions and snow peas. Stir-fry for one more minute.
5. Add chicken nuggets. Then add Kahiki Shanghai Orange Sauce. Stir-fry until ingredients are coated with the sauce.
6. Immediately remove to serving dish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Yield: 5 servings as part of a multi-course meal
Serving Suggestions
Serve with steamed white rice
Garnish the dish with some orange segments or orange zest.
Use black and white sesame seeds for color contrast.
Cooking Tips
Substitute battered shrimp, beef, or pork for the chicken
Add red, yellow, or green bell peppers, or add all three.
Broccoli and water chestnuts can also be added
