    1 medium head cabbage - shredded
    1 medium onion - chopped
    1 carrot - shredded
    1 jar sauerkraut - rinsed and drained
    4 tablespoons sunflower oil
    salt and pepper to taste
    Optional: 1/2 cup chopped bacon; brown sugar

    Recipe



    Cook the onion in the oil until tender in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add cabbage and carrots to onion, stirring occasionally, cooking until cabbage and carrots are 'limp'. Stir in sauerkraut and cook to blend flavors. Bacon may be added at this time. Season to taste.

    May be served as a side dish, used as a filling or as a garnishment.
