# 3 ounces extra-virgin olive oil
# 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) fresh lemon juice
# Salt and pepper, to taste
# 1 clove garlic, chopped

Asparagus al VaporeTrim the dry, brittle bottoms of the asparagus. Immerse the spears in boiling water and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness. Drain and shock in ice water to chill thoroughly. Drain again, then toss with the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic. Arrange on plates and serve with the Italian bread.
