    List of Ingredients

    170g plain flour
    150g soft brown sugar
    50g cocoa powder
    150ml milk
    50g butter, melted
    100g dark chocolate
    55g soft brown sugar
    400ml hot milk cream

    You will also need:
    1kg loaf tin
    mixing bowl
    shallow roasting tin
    deep serving dish

    Recipe

    1. Grease the loaf tin.
    2. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/gas mark 4.

    3. Mix the flour and the first amount of sugar (150g) with half the
    cocoa powder.

    4. Beat in the milk and melted butter.

    5. Break the chocolate into rough pieces and stir into the mixture.

    6. Pour into the loaf tin.

    7. Sprinkle the second amount of sugar (55g) and the other half of the
    cocoa powder over the mixture.

    8. Pour hot milk over it, place the loaf tin in a shallow roasting tin
and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. It is ready when the top feels crusty.

    9. Carefully turn the whole thing out into a deep serving dish and eat
it with cream while still hot.

NB. You can replace the dark chocolate with white chocolate if you
prefer, or do a mixture of the two.
