    Dog Bites in Ketchup-Mustard Sauce

    Source of Recipe

    Todays Parents

    List of Ingredients

    1 medium onion, chopped
6 hot dogs, cut into 1/2 in. (1 cm) chunks
1/4 cup (50 mL) mustard, any kind
    1/4 cup (50 mL) ketchup
    1/2 cup (125 mL) water
    1 tbsp. (15 mL) sugar
1 tsp. (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce

    Recipe

Dump the chopped onion and the hot dog chunks into a medium saucepan and cook, stirring, over medium heat. You don't have to add any oil because the hot dogs have plenty of their own - wait and see. Continue cooking until the onions are softened and the hot dogs are beginning to brown, about 5 or 6 minutes. Now add the mustard, ketchup, water, sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let simmer for another 5 or 6 minutes. The sauce should be thickened and the onions soft. That's it. Now just try not to taste it. I dare you.

    Makes about 2 Thermos servings.
