    Fried "Chicken" Legs

    Recipe Introduction

These were fun to make and fun to eat. Kids would definitely like this. I couldn't find cornbread twists so had to use regular breadsticks. I think the cornbread would have been better.

    List of Ingredients

    4 hot dogs
    4 pretzel rods
1 package refrigerated corn bread twists, 11.5-oz.
    2 tablespoons milk
    1 cup crushed cornflakes

    Recipe

    1. Cut hot dogs in half crosswise. Carefully break pretzel rods in half crosswise.

    2. Push broken end of pretzel half about one inch into cut side of hot dog.

    3. Separate the corn bread strips at perforations, making 16 strips. Using two strips for each hot dog, wrap strips around each to completely cover hot dogs.

    4. Brush cornbread with milk. Roll in crushed cornflakes to coat. Place "chicken" legs on a cookie sheet.

    5. Bake at 375 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes or until corn bread is golden brown. Makes 8 legs. Source: Better Homes And Gardens Magazine, April 2002. Notes: Kids would like this recipe. To make it easier to get the pretzel into the hot dog, use a knife to make a deep X before inserting the pretzel.
