List of Ingredients
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces or so linguine or spaghetti
2 thin pork loin chops (about 1/2 pound meat)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons vinegar (rice vinegar if you have it)
2 tablespoons grated ginger
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 bag (1-pound) broccoli slawRecipe
Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add salt and noodles; cook until noodles are tender but firm. Drain. (If it will be awhile till the pork is ready, toss the noodles with a little vegetable oil, or Chinese sesame oil, to keep them from sticking.)
Cut pork into very thin strips, as thin as spaghetti, if it doesn't drive you crazy to do that. In a bowl, mix pork, soy sauce, vinegar, 1 tablespoon ginger, 1 tablespoon garlic and cornstarch.
Add vegetable oil to a wide (12-inch) heavy skillet or wok and heat several seconds over highest heat. Add sesame seeds and cook until light brown (30 seconds or so). Add remaining garlic and ginger and cook another 30 seconds or so, until aromatic. Add broccoli slaw and cook, stirring constantly, about 1 minute. Add pork and its marinade along with 2 tablespoons of water and cook 3 minutes more, or until pork is cooked through. Toss with cooked noodles and serve.
Serves 4.
