    2 pounds round steak, cut in bite-size pieces
    1 cup finely chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons cooking oil
    2 cups water (or 1 cup red wine and 1/2 cup water)
    1/2 cup chili sauce
    1 tablespoon paprika
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    2 teaspoons seasoned salt
    1 teaspoon soy sauce
    1 can (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
    1/4 cup green salsa, optional
    8 ounces sour cream
    3 tablespoons flour

    Brown the meat, onion and garlic in oil in a large saucepan. Drain.

    Add water, chili sauce, paprika, chili powder, seasoned salt, soy sauce, mushrooms and green salsa, if using. Simmer, covered, 1 hour or until meat is tender. Transfer to freezable containers and freeze.

    To serve: Thaw the meat and warm in a pan. Stir together the sour cream and flour and add to the meat 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve over noodles or rice.

    Serves six to eight.
