List of Ingredients
2 cups Tennessee Hickory Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauce
2 TBSP oil
1 brisket of beef (about 5 lbs.)
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt Recipe
Combine the salt and spices in a small bowl and mix well. Rub this into the brisket. Heat the oil in a heavy pan with a tight fitting lid. Sear the brisket in the oil, brushing with the Tennessee Hickory Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauce while browning. Reserve remaining sauce. Cover the pan and place in a preheated 325 deg oven. Bake about 3 1/2 hours until fork tender. Add additional liquid if necessary after about 2 1/2 hours.
Remove the pan from the oven, and, using 2 forks, pull the meat apart in the pan juices, shredding it coarsely. Heat the remaining Tennessee Hickory Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauce to a boil. Mound the shredded beef onto a platter and spoon the hot sauce over the meat.
All this can be prepared just before going to the stadium and taken in a tightly covered container in a thermal cover. Some cornbread would be nice with it, but commercial rolls will work nicely.
