    Makes 6 servings

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil, di vided use

    ¾ cup cooked celery, chopped fine

    2 pounds ground sirloin

    ¾ cup bread crumbs

    ¾ teaspoon nutmeg

    Dash Worcestershire sauce

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    Garnishes and condiments

    6 buns

    Recipe



    : Heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Saute the celery: In a small skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Saute celery until it is just a little soft and slightly translucent. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

    Prepare the mix: In a mixing bowl, combine celery, sirloin, bread crumbs, nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper by hand, using rapid motions, without overworking mixture.

    Shape, cook the burgers: Shape meat into 6 round patties. Heat a little vegetable oil in an ovenproof skillet. When pan is very hot, cook patties quickly (about 2 minutes) on one side. Flip burgers and immediately put skillet in oven and cook meat until done to taste (about 5 minutes for medium rare).

    Presentation: Place patties on buns, along with your favorite gar nishes and condiments.
