    1-1/3 pounds ground beef

    2/3 cup cracker crumbs

    1/3 cup minced onion

    1 egg

    1/4 teaspoon ginger

    1½ teaspoons salt

    1/3 cup milk

    1 tablespoon shortening

    2 tablespoons cornstarch

    1 13½-ounce can pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve juice)

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

    2-1/3 cups brown sugar, packed

    1/3 cup green onion tops, chopped

    Recipe



    Mix thoroughly the ground beef, cracker crumbs, onion, egg, ginger, salt and milk. Shape the mixture by teaspoonfuls into meatballs.

    Melt shortening in a large skillet. Brown and cook meatballs in skillet; remove and keep warm. Drain fat from skillet.

    Mix together cornstarch, vinegar, soy sauce, reserved pineapple juice and brown sugar in a bowl. Pour mixture into skillet. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and begins to boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Add meatballs, pineapple and green onion to sauce. Heat thoroughly and serve. Makes 6 servings.
