List of Ingredients
7 Steak-Ums or thinly sliced sandwich steaks
1 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, sliced in strips
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 can (8 ounce) Crescent dinner rolls
1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese
1 egg, beaten
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut steaks crosswise into 1/2 inch wide strips. Stir fry steak strips in butter in a large skillet until cooked through. Drain. Add onion and pepper and saute until crisp tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Unroll 1 can dough on a cookie sheet. Press all perforations to seal dough. Spread meat mixture lengthwise down the center of the rectangle. Along the edge on both sides make cuts about 1 inch apart from the edge in almost to the filling. Fold these over the meat mixture. First one from one side then the other at an angle to make it look like a braided effect. Fold the ends to seal and then brush with the egg. Bake 16 to 20 minutes, until browned. Cool 5 minutes before cutting and serving. Serves 4.
