    Bacon, Chilli and Lemon Spaghetti

    List of Ingredients




    • Four rashers of Danepak Lean and Low smoked back bacon, sliced
    • Three tablespoons of olive oil
    • 225g dried spaghetti
    • One lemon
    • One medium red chilli, halved, deseeded and chopped
    • Four tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

    Recipe



    1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil, add the spaghetti and cook as directed on the packet.
    2. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large frying pan. Stir in the bacon and crisp for six to eight minutes, turning occasionally.
    3. Grate the lemon zest finely, and add this, the chilli and parsley to the frying pan.
    4. Drain the spaghetti, and stir into the olive oil mixture until well coated. Add a good squeeze of the lemon and serve immediately.
    Slimmer Tip
    • When you deseed a chilli, use a knife rather than your fingers. Always wash your hands after handling fresh chillies and whatever you do, don't touch your eyes!
