Oklahoma Spaghetti Pie

1 pk spaghetti; (6-oz.)
2 tb butter or margarine
1/3 c parmesan cheese; grated
2 eggs; well-beaten
1 c cottage cheese
1 cn chopped tomatoes; (8 oz.
-can)
1 cn tomato paste; (6 oz.)
1 ts sugar
1 ts dried oregano; crushed
1/2 ts garlic powder
1/2 c mozzarella cheese; shredded
1 lb ground beef or pork sausage
1/2 c onion; chopped
1/4 c green bell pepper; chopped
Recipe
Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions: drain. Stir butter
or margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form
spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered pie plate (10"). Spread
cottage cheese over the bottom of the spaghetti crust. In a skillet, cook
ground beef or pork sausage, onion and green bell pepper until vegetables
are tender and meat is browned; drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained
tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic powder: heat through.
Place meat mixture into the spaghetti crust. Bake (uncovered) at 350
degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake for 5
minutes longer, or until cheese melts.
Makes 6 servings.
