    3 large whole chicken breasts, cut in half
    1/4 cup butter
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 can cream of chicken soup (can use cream of mushroom)
    2 soup cans of milk
    1 (5-ounce) can water chestnuts, sliced (optional)
    2 tbls green peppers, chopped (optional)
    1/2 tsp thyme
    Hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes

    Recipe



    Season chicken with salt and pepper, dip chicken in
    flour and brown in butter. Arrange browned chicken in
    casserole.
    Add cans of soup and can fulls of milk to the drippings
    in the skillet ... stir until smooth. Add can of sliced
    water chestnuts, drained.
    Add chopped green pepper and thyme. Heat to boiling
    and pour over chicken.
    Cover with foil. Bake 25 minutes at 350°. Uncover,
    continue to bake 25 to 30 minutes.
    Serve over hot fluffy rice or hot mashed potatoes.
