Recipe Introduction
Since 1922, the Hollywood Bowl has been the spot for music under the stars in Los Angeles. Summer concerts here feature the finest of music, and people from all over the world meet to picnic and then settle back for an evening of beautiful music. It is versatile, as you can add pretty much whatever you want depending on what you're hungry for. It can be made ahead for convenience, which will allow the flavors to mellow. To make a complete meal of it, you need only bring some tasty bread, white wine, summer fruit, and cookies.
List of Ingredients
1/2 pound uncooked pasta-shells, penne, macaroni, etc.
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons red or white vinegar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 red or green bell pepper, chopped
2 green onions, minced
Options:
Chicken pieces (optional)
Tuna chunks (optional)
Slivered ham (optional)
Peas (optional)
Cold beef strips (optional)
Bay shrimp (optional)
Cheese cubes (optional)
Olives, etc. (optional)
Parmesan cheese and minced parsley for garnish
Recipe
Cook the pasta per package directions, drain, and rinse with cold water. In a salad bowl, combine olive oil, vinegar, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, chopped bell pepper, and onions. Add pasta while still warm and mix all together. Add any optional ingredients you like; blend and refrigerate until serving time. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and parsley before.
