    large jar of spaghetti sauce
    large can of tomato paste (14 oz?)
    2 medium green peppers, coarsely chopped
    3 medium onions, coarsely chopped
    2 packages of mushrooms (~2 lbs total?), coarsely chopped
    2 lbs Steak-Umms or similar product
    garlic powder
    good French/Italian bread
    parmesan cheese

    Recipe



    In a large pot, stir together the sauce and paste. Heat and simmer.
    Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook Steak-Umms as directed on package. Sprinkle steaks with a little garlic powder while cooking. When cooked, remove from pan, blot off fat with paper towels, slice into 4-5 strips and add to tomato sauce. (The Steak-Umms generate a lot of fat in pan: drain off occasionally, but reserve some for the following step.)
    Saute veggies in some of the remaining fat from the meat. Add to pot.
    Simmer contents in pot for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. (Note: It's better when reheated the following day!)
    Spoon on toasted bread and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
