    600ml (1 pint) Milk
    12 tbsp Fresh White Breadcumbs
    1 small Onion
    1 Clove
    25g (1oz) Butter
    3 tbsp Cream
    Salt and White pepper to taste

    Recipe



    Place the milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
    Add onion with the clove stuck in to it and the butter.
    Simmer for 15 minutes.
    Remove the onion and clove and discard.
    Pour the milk over the breadcumbs and return to the heat stiring until the sauce thickens, adding the cream.
    Serve with roast poultry or feathered game.
