½ tbsp. dried thyme
½ tbsp. ground cumin
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. onion salt or powder
¼ tsp. cayenne
1 tsp. brown sugar
2 cups water
2 lbs. ground chuck
3 garlic cloves, finely choppedRecipe
Brown meat very well, draining only a small amount of grease. Stir meat while adding rest of ingredients. Simmer 1 to 1 ½ hours. Before removing from heat, add a little extra thyme, cumin and chili powder and stir. Freezes well.
