2 pounds beef stew meat
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 can golden mushroom soup
1-1/4 cups water
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 small cabbage or Chinese cabbage, (6 cups); cut in 1" cubes
1 5-oz can bamboo shoots (3/4 cup), drained or can use Chinese vegetablesRecipe
1. Sprinkle the meat with pepper.
2. Brown the meat in hot oil in skillet.
3. Add mushroom soup, water, onion and soy sauce.
4. Cover.
5. Simmer for 1-1/2 hours until meat is tender.
6. Add cabbage and bamboo shoots.
7. Cover.
8. Simmer 8 minutes more.
