    1 large potato, 8 oz coarsely chopped
    1 large apple (granny smith) coarsely chopped
    l medium onion, coarsely chopped
    1 firm ripe BANANA (yes) coarsely chopped
    1 celery heart (inside of celery with leaves), coarsely chopped
    leaves and all 1/2 cup
    2 cups chicken stock
    1 tsp tumeric (or curry if you want that)
    1 cup milk or heavy cream
    1 T butter
    1 tsp salt
    1 T fresh chives for garnish

    In large saucepan, combine potato, onion, apple banana celery and stock over med. high heat. Bring to boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer and cook until veggies anf fruits are very tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in cream or milk, butter, turmeric, lat and heat just til heat4ed through. Do not boil.

    Working in batches with a food processor or blender (an imulsion blender is better) puree until smouth. Serve HOT OR COLD.

    Can be made 2 days ahead of time and covered. Don't keep more than four days because of the banana in it. garnish with chives or scallions

    NOTES: Cream is smoother but milk works well too. Evaporated milk is a good compromise. :))) You can also added a touch of cayenne. It might need a little punch. That did it.

    You must use the turmeric or if you choose curry powder....it plays a big role here.
    VERY GOOD.... better than you would think.
