    450grms boneless beef for stew, cubed
    22grms all-purpose flour
    2 tsp vegetable oil
    9grms unsalted butter
    170grms large potatoes, peeled and sliced thickly
    47grms onion, sliced
    90grms carrots, sliced thickly
    ¼ tsp whole black peppercorns
    1 bay leaf
    1 bottle Cisk Lager beer
    160ml beef stock
    2 tsp soy sauce

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 180°C. Combine meat and flour in a heavy plastic bag. Toss lightly and shake off excess. Heat oil and butter in a heavy non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Saute meat 2 to 3 minutes, stirring until browned. In a deep large casserole, alternate layers of meat, potatoes, onions and carrots. Sprinkle with peppercorns and bay leaves. Pour remaining ingredients over mixture and bake, uncovered, 1½ hours, or until meat is tender.

    Serves 4
