GREEN TOMATO PICKLES

List of Ingredients
12 green tomatoes, sliced (¼ inch slices)
6 medium onions, sliced (¼ inch slices)
1 cup salt
1 gallon cold water
2 cups sugar
2½ cups vinegar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon mustard seed
1 tablespoon turmeric
Recipe
Soak tomatoes and onions overnight in the 1 cup salt and gallon water. Drain next morning. Combine remaining ingredients for the syrup. Bring to boil. Add tomatoes and onions and let boil five minutes. Pack and seal.
