Prizewinner Kathie Gill of St. Joseph, Michigan, writes, The Big Potato is a pleasant reminder of my courtship with my husband, Jeff. Before they were married, Kathie dated a friend of Jeffs who brought him to dinner one night. Kathie gave Jeff, rather than her boyfriend, the largest potato. The next day she wondered Why? Four months later, Jeff and Kathie were married.
