    List of Ingredients




    Pie Crusts-
    * 2 cups flour

    * ½ Tbs sugar

    * 1 Tbs salt

    * ½ cup shortening

    * ¼ water

    * 1 Tbs cider vinegar

    * 1 egg

    Filling-

    * ¾ cup sugar

    * ¾ cup granulated sugar

    * 1 Tbs corn starch

    * 6 cups pippen or Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced

    * 1 tsp cinnamon

    * 1 Tbs lemon juice

    * 1 Tbs butter

    Recipe



    Crusts-

    1. For the crusts, combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Cut in shortening until coarse.

    2. In a separate bowl, combine the water, vinegar and egg and beat with a fork. Pour into the flour mixture and mix until the pastry

    holds together.

    3. Divide the dough into 2 balls. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Roll out each crust until they are 2 inches larger than the pie

    plate.

    4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a pie plate with one of the crusts.

    Pie Filling-

    1. To make the pie filling, mix the sugar and cornstarch in a large bowl.

    2. Add the apples, cinnamon and lemon juice. Toss until evenly covered. Pour the apple mixture into the pastry-lined pie plate.

    3. Dot with butter and cover with the top crust. Seal and flute the edges of the crust, and cut slits in the top of the pie.

    4. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.

    **For those of you who are very busy and do not have time for making pie crusts. Pick up the crusts in your store refrigerator or freezer.
