    Halfback Screen Brat Stew

    1 tablespoon olive oil
    4 cloves minced garlic
    1 cup diced onion
    1 package Johnsonville Brats
    2 12-ounce cans of beer
    1 15-ounce can cannelini beans, drained
    1 15-ounce can northern beans, drained
    1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans, drained
    1 15-ounce can corn, drained
    1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
    1/2 cup whipping or heavy cream
    1 cup diced Roma tomatoes
    1/2 cup sliced green onions

    Recipe



    1. In a 4-quart stockpot, heat the oil over medium heat on the burner side of the barbecue grill. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

    2. Add the onions and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the brats and cover with beer. Bring to a boil, turn to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.

    3. Remove the brats, let cool and cut into bite- size slices. Add the sliced brats back to the beer broth.

    4. Add the 3 cans of beans, corn and thyme and simmer for another 15 minutes.

    5. Just before you serve the stew, stir in the cream, tomatoes and green onions. Top each bowl of stew with 1/2 cup of croutons.
